Lobster Tales

Jasper White reviews Lobster (Edible series) and Lobster (Animal series) in the Wall Street Journal.

'Both of these books are skillfully written, and the subject is so vast that there is actually little overlap between the two. I wish that they both had existed before I wrote my treatise on cooking lobsters 13 years ago; I certainly would have used them as a reference.

Most of all, these books remind us that our long relationship with lobsters is tied up with our relationships with one another. I grew up eating lobsters on the Jersey Shore and in the years since have cooked many thousands of the creatures for my fellow humans. I can promise you that all the wonderful "lobsterology" contained in these books will only serve to whet your appetite for the main course.'
